Packing Day
Other than the fact that it’s not freezing cold, you would think we were plunged back into winter here. January is meant to be our summer, with warm days and balmy nights. Well we did get some of that last week (29 deg in the shade on the kitchen deck 2 days ago) but now we have rain, rain, and more rain. Perfect day for packing up the works for the WOA Exhibition.
These images can be found on my website JBPhotoArt.co.nz, and are all available for individual purchase as a fine art print, printed to your own specs. Or come along to the World of Open Art exhibition (www.woadunedinartgallery.com) from 1st Feb to 21st Feb, at 171 George St, Dunedin to see these ones, and a couple more, in person.

A beautiful sunny Otago afternoon. The flowers are looking gorgeous and the camera beckons. The result - “A Daisy Afternoon”. The latest in what seems to becoming my Vintage Floral ‘Triptych’ series. Creating windows into the garden, glimpses of colour, nostalgic beauty, the delight of summer.
Going up in the New Release Gallery as an Open Edition print. New Release images are eligible for a 10% discount for the month they sit in the New Release Gallery before having a home in their permanent gallery.

Framing!
Getting ready to participate in an exhibition takes a bit of work. Prints done, then framing. Been experimenting with using pre-cut frames. Learnt a lot and now have even more appreciation why professional framing costs what it does. It’s quite fiddly work, and it can take 30-40 mins just to get those nasty little dust specks out from under the glass! Still, I don’t think I’ve done too bad a job in the end. There is definitely a time and place for the professionals, but now I have myself a very handy backup that I can go to when time is of the essence. Quite proud of these, and almost don’t want to let them go off my walls to the exhibition.

Check out the Vintage Floral Gallery or come along to the World of Open Art exhibition (www.woadunedinartgallery.com) from 1st - 21st Feb, at 171 George St, Dunedin, to see these ones, and a couple more, in person.

"Garden Whispers" & Welcome to 2021
Here I am, back at “work”, not that an artist ever stops working. 😉 It’s been a full on break for us. My partner Gav finished up on the 18th, and then it was full on getting the house ready for us to host the family Christmas for the first time ever! Great fun, great day, and despite afternoon rain, an awesome day with the family. We here in New Zealand are really fortunate that we could host the family all together in one venue, with no restrictions, so my thoughts go out to all of those who couldn’t, and had to keep their social distance. Thinking of you all and hoping for an end to these challenging times we are now in.
I’ve just popped the image “Garden Whispers” from the New Release Gallery into its permanent Gallery – Vintage Floral. So, because it’s still New Year’s (sort of), if anyone was wanting to purchase this image and found it disappeared from under their nose, I’ll extend the 10% discount for another 48 hours, if you send a contact message through my Contact page and mention this post.
Welcome to 2021 everyone. I’m not the best at sending greetings to all, but the thoughts are there for all of you, and hoping for a much improved year for the world and wishing everyone happiness and safety in this topsy turvy world we have right now.
