Autumn Leaf Painting Progress

Wow, didn’t realise it’s been a while since I’ve posted. Found myself stalled. Couldn’t settle on anything, bouncing around a few project ideas but not moving towards any of them. It was such a busy March that I seemed to have exhausted myself creatively. Finally found some small motivation and managed to get the initial backgrounds done for those new leaf ideas. And today added the silver details. So starting to feel like I’ve got a bit of direction again.

The feel of the paintbrush in my hand again is very satisfying and seems to be calling me more than the camera at the moment. So I’ll run with it for a while because both are a form of getting ideas out of my head and heart. I’m still a photographer first and foremost, but it seems that sometimes I need the very tactile feeling of paint on canvas. And Autumn always draws me back to my leaves. My favourite season.
