JBPhotoArt.co.nz - 1 Year old today!
It was a year ago today that I launched my JBPhotoArt.co.nz website, with a lot of excitement, joy, fear and trepidation. With mega support from Gav (my partner), diving into the unknown, we hit the ‘Go’ button and off it went, into the world.
It’s been an incredibly fun journey so far. I have met lots of new people, made lots of new friends on Instagram, and even gained a new furry friend as well! I found a couple of local venues for my work, and have been featured at the Otago Art Society several times, even with some sales resulting. But you soon come to the realisation that this is a long term journey, with highs and lows along the way. COVID was definitely not in the plan for a launch year and yet Gav and I still feel incredibly fortunate to be in the situation we are in.
I’d like to shout out to a couple of special mentions: Paul and Sarah at Turboweb (@turbowebnz) for guiding me and building my website. Michelle at The Artists Room (@theartistsroomgallery) for giving no nonsense advice on how photography sells in the art world. Cath at The Framers Room (@theframersroom) for being a great friend and listening to me download my days and just having a good chat. Murray Eskdale for being another great friend and the most awesome person to print my work for me. He gets my vision, my colours and his printing is just the best!
To everyone one else (you know who you are) thanks for being with me on my journey and giving your support. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the next years will bring.
