Lockdown Work in Progress - Sketching

Lockdown Work in Progress - Sketching

30th August 2021

I’m an artist who creates with her camera, but I also very much like the tactile feeling of putting brush, or pencil, to canvas and paper.  So I’m teaching myself better drawing skills.  Trying to practice as much as possible. There is a wonderful café in Outram, The Wobbly Goat, and at least once a week I try to stop past there on my walk, grab a coffee, and sketch something.  I also love rusty stuff in the garden, so yesterday tried my hand at this wonderful old kettle we have in the front garden.  The kettle sketch is very much work in progress, there is quite a bit more I could do with it I’m thinking.  Any hints, tips, comments greatly appreciated!

Hope your lockdown time is fruitful and not too frustrating.  Sending thoughts to my many Auckland friends, who look to face a couple more weeks of full lockdown.  Anticipating the 4pm briefing to see if we down South can drop a level.
