Printing a Fine Art Image

Printing a Fine Art Image

Ben Ohau (LE)
A Whispered Embrace (LE)

I want my photography to rise above the camera and become an artist’s image in its own right, and that includes what it’s printed on. Printing was a real concern for me when I first began this journey into being a full time ‘artist’, but there was a serendipity involved that lead me to my printer. He prints my images on the most wonderful Hahnemuehle Photo Rag 308 smooth cotton rag Fine Art paper, using Epson archival pigment inks. There are wonderfully rich colours, embedded deep in a print that is made to last. It’s a delicate surface, but oh, the joy I get when I pick up the prints.

These are two more of my works that are available from the Otago Art Society in the weeks to come. “Ben Ohau” (frame size 630mm x 440mm) is part of the “Anything But” exhibition, and “A Whispered Embrace” (frame size 620mm x 440mm) which will be available from the shop.
