“Windswept” Accepted in competition
I took a chance recently and entered a couple of images into the Nelson National Triptych 2021 competition. Happy to say that my image “Windswept” was Accepted for exhibition. The photograph was created on Papatowai Beach in the Catlins, and I was really excited to see the wonderful abstract patterns that nature had given me that day.
It’s not very often that I feel like entering competitions, as that is not why I feel compelled to create images. I create for myself, to express my vision and feelings of this world. I’m not a naturally outgoing person, and I like to let my work speak for me a lot of the time. So it’s always a nice feeling to get acknowledgment, if only small, that the image resonated with someone.
